Our founder
In 2001, Richard East opens the business with a minibus and a loan from a friend. We start out as a specialist hospitality agency and our first year is a success!
Shortly afterwards, we open our first branch in Cheltenham, on Imperial Square.
Hello Herefordshire
Multi-branch and multi-sector
In 2003, RE Resource Group (as we are then known) wins its first industrial contract supporting a national food supplier. We now supply temporary production labour, adding another string to our bow.
In 2004 we open our second branch in Hereford, Richard’s hometown. We source drivers, warehouse and production staff for local businesses.
In 2005, James Gibbs joins Richard as an Operations Director. His knowledge of recruitment alongside his passion for the industry is invaluable.

Hospitality, food production and more...
Our client base grows: from global blue chip companies to local businesses, many of whom are still our clients today. We are now a multi-discipline agency with temporary and permanent divisions.
In 2007 we win our first major contract working for the NHS. We also support more food production companies across Gloucestershire, Worcester and Herefordshire with the vital staff they need to pick and pack throughout the seasons.
Our hospitality division now supplies large numbers of staff to support events at the O2 arena, the Olympics, Cheltenham Racecourse, Ascot and Silverstone.
Supporting the Christmas season
We open in Worcester
In 2014, we open our Worcester branch.
In 2016, Ambrose Recruitment becomes a part of the RE Resource Group. We are now truly multi-disciplinary, now supplying engineers through our Engineering division and permanent and temporary office and administrative staff through our Professional Services division too.
In 2017 our overseas division is launched, which sees us recruiting large quantities of staff from Romania to support the Christmas season for farmers across the UK. One year we charter a plane to bring 200 workers over to help with the supply of turkeys!


Going global
On-site support
In 2018, Gallant Recruitment joins the group, supplying permanent office and administrative staff in businesses across Gloucestershire.
We take on another global production business and implement an on-site programme with a team of 200 fully managed by an RE Account Manager based on site. This is the first of many, and still one of our key areas of expertise today.
We’re passionate about reducing our negative impact on the environment and start our sustainability journey. First up in 2021 we are accredited by Green Mark. We review our performance to save energy, reduce waste and become more sustainable and we establish an environmental policy that is used to ensure future business decisions are made sustainably. We also plant trees through Ecologi.

In 2021 we also top the list in The Recruiter’s Fast 50 - a list of the fastest-growing private recruitment companies in the UK, with a growth rate of 71%.
2024 is a big year for us. In early 2024, Truly Tailored Recruitment becomes a part of RE, with Abi Howell joining the Professional Services team. Abi shares our commitment to providing an exceptional recruitment experience for jobseekers and clients. We are also recognised as one of the UK’s Leading Recruiters by the Financial Times, a prestigious accolade and one we are incredibly proud of.
Going into 2025, the company has over 70 team members, from Marketing to Accounts, Recruitment Agents to IT and Compliance to HR. We provide permanent, temporary and on-site recruitment solutions across the UK. As a multi-sector agency, we support a wide variety of businesses, and we continue to grow. Watch this space!
