Charity Pledges

At RE, we are proud to support a number of charities and make charity pledges each year.

This year, we are supporting:

Hope for Tomorrow

Winston’s Wish

Action Medical Research

Sue Ryder

IT Schools Africa

We’re proud to support Hope for Tomorrow, a registered UK charity changing the way cancer patients access care through their fleet of mobile cancer care units. They bring vital cancer services directly into communities, helping to alleviate the emotional, physical and financial strain on cancer patients and their loved ones during an already challenging time.

Through the charity’s “Pay for a Day” initiative, we’re funding one day a month of mobile cancer care for a year. Each day costs £212 per mobile unit and enables up to 20 patients on board to receive vital cancer care.

Hope for Tomorrow’s Chief Executive, Tina Seymour said, “We’re delighted that RE Recruitment has made this commitment, We are so grateful for their support to help us to continue to provide mobile cancer services for patients in their local community. Thank you to all at RE Recruitment for partnering with us in making cancer care more accessible for all.”

As Hope for Tomorrow is a charity that receives no government funding, we’re proud that our support enables them to continue to bring cancer care closer to those who need it.

Winston’s Wish support young people across the UK to understand their feelings, process their grief and find ways to move forward with hope for a brighter future. They do this through information, on-demand services, bereavement support and counselling. They also help the adults who are caring for young grieving people including parents, school staff and healthcare professionals.

We are supporting them with fundraising throughout the year, including:

  • Wear Wellies Day
  • Company BBQ
  • Bake Sale

Action Medical Research are the leading UK-wide charity dedicated to funding vital research to help sick and disabled babies, children and young people. They have been funding medical breakthroughs for over 70 years and have helped to beat polio, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths and develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, helping to save thousands of children’s lives and change many more.

Today they continue to tackle the challenges disease and disability present by funding high quality research to save and change children’s lives, including research to help children affected by COVID-19 and long COVID.

We supported them by completing a Race the Sun challenge in June 2024, which was a 28 mile bike ride, 9 mile hike and 2 mile canoe across the beautiful Dorset countryside and coastline. 2 teams of 4 entered and we collectively raised nearly £3000.

Sue Ryder is a charity very close to the hearts of some of our employees. Their Leckhampton hospice in Cheltenham is Gloucestershire’s only inpatient unit for specialist palliative care. They also provide care in a patient’s own home and virtual support from their day hospice and outpatient services.

We supported them by participating in the Mascot Race at Cheltenham Racecourse in November (which was on the telly!) and the Big Dip at the Cheltenham Lido in December.

All reusable IT equipment is also donated to IT Schools Africa. IT Schools Africa is a UK-registered charity that provides quality education through access to e-Learning for school children in Africa whilst simultaneously in the UK.
