We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our clients business in a standalone, operational HR role supporting three sites across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys working closely with managers and employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As the sole HR lead across the business, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the people agenda while providing practical day-to-day HR support. You will work directly with the Senior Leadership Team, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring the business remains compliant, engaged, and people-focused.
This role requires someone who is highly organised, resilient, visible across the organisation, and confident operating independently across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, accurate, and practical HR advice to managers and employees in line with company policies, employment legislation, and best practice.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle including sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new starters.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate internal or external learning solutions to support succession planning and career development.
- Support and guide managers through attendance, disciplinary, grievance, and performance management processes.
- Prepare HR documentation including letters, scripts, and meeting notes.
- Manage temporary labour requirements, liaising with agencies to support operational demands across production, despatch, and other departments.
- Review and update HR policies to ensure ongoing legal compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Lead internal communications including company newsletters, notice boards, and company briefings.
- Monitor and analyse HR metrics including turnover, absence, and headcount, implementing improvement plans where required.
- Prepare and manage the HR budget.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant working environment in line with company systems and procedures.
- Build strong working relationships across all three sites, maintaining visibility and engagement throughout the business.
About You
We are looking for a confident and commercially aware HR professional who thrives in a standalone role and enjoys being embedded within the operation.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Significant operational HR experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing a broad range of employee relations matters.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified, part-qualified, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively across multiple sites.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply it pragmatically.
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills at all levels.
- Positive, practical, and resilient approach.
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Visible and approachable, with a genuine understanding of operational environments.
- Comfortable balancing strategic priorities with hands-on operational delivery.
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a standalone HR function within a growing manufacturing business where you can make a genuine impact across multiple sites. You will have the autonomy to shape processes, support leaders, and drive positive change within the organisation.
