Buyer – Immediate Start

• Up to £28 per annum, DOE
• Stroud
• Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am – 2:00pm
• Temporary Contract, On-going

A leading, global engineering business are looking to welcome a committed and enthusiastic buyer to their friendly team, on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business at a peak of growth.

Role Responsibilities

• Supporting the purchasing team to review sub-contract demand – ensuring that RFQ’s and Purchase orders are raised in line with MRP Schedule and customer delivery dates.
• Evolving the RFQ system and raising RFQ’s when required.
• Coordinating/monitoring the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle.
• Review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods. Negotiate best prices balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs.
• Supporting the Purchasing Supervisor with arranging visits to suppliers and co-ordinating regular supplier development meetings.
• Monitor and review vendor related goods rejection notes/NCR’s and focus on closing out GRRN’s effectively within the allocated time frame.
• Liaise with internal departments where necessary regarding quality and delivery issues.
• Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
• Working in line with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Environmental Policies and Procedures
