My client, a market leading manufacturer in Shrewsbury are looking for a self-motivated individual to join their business as a The Procurement Buyer.

Purpose:
As The Procurement Buyer you will be responsible for supporting of the companies’ procurement strategy to deliver cost savings and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Relationships
- Manage relationships with existing suppliers and identify new alternative suppliers.
- Negotiate commercial terms including maximising rebate agreements and early payment discounts to achieve product cost saving targets.
- Maximise supplier contributions through Marketing budgets, transport discounts and other funding streams available.
- Liaise with suppliers to achieve supplier conformance to ACS requirements.
Purchasing
- Identify best routes of source, yielding improved BP and savings.
- Competitively source new/special products through supplier relationship or by the Insight team request
- Working with QC and Compliance on product rationalisation and using this where possible to negotiate improved BP.
- Grow and develop our Private Label product portfolio.
- Providing administrative support on all aspects of the tender process including data gathering, desk-based sourcing, collation of quotations and cost comparison, supplier evaluation and collation of samples.

Essential:
- Qualified member or studying towards CIPS membership.
- Education to AS/A Level standard and/or 4 to 5 Grade A-C GCSE’s
- Purchasing and stock control/supply chain experience
- Excellent Word and Excel Skills and knowledge of SAP Business One (Desirable)
- Experience of working in a similar customer focused (preferably distribution) environment managing the inventory for a very large number of products lines.
