Class 1 HGV Driver in Hereford (Immediate start, flexible hours available)

Class 1 C+E HGV LGV Driver required immediately in Hereford

Our client is well established distribution firm based in Hereford looking for a Class 1 HGV LGV driver (Cat C+E) to join them on a temporary contract basis, with permanent positions available for the right candidate.

This is a great opportunity for regular work using modern, well-maintained vehicles which are renewed every two years.

Your duties would include 1-3 drops per day to distribution centres to both national and regional distribution centres. You may also be responsible for limited hand-balling duties. Overall, this would be clean, light work.

There are various shift patterns available with flexibility days also on offer. The start times are as follows.

You will have the following skills and attributes:

• Valid UK Cat C+E Driving License with no more than 6 points
• 30 days Commercial Driving Experience
• Valid CPC Qualification card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Good time keeping – deliver to the customer on time
• Driving standards to be excellent – we will train, and coach improved driving behaviours. We do not allow drivers to speed, park illegally etc.
• Basic Manual Handling
• Basic Literacy Skills
• Good communication skills
• Good understanding of H&S  
• Operate legally within the legislation for both Tachograph and Working Time Directive  
• Correct loading of vehicles where applicable.  
• Follow Safe System of Work (Health and Safety)    
• Ensure paperwork is compiled and presented accurately in a presentable manner deliver to the customer using a handheld tablet
• Customer service experience polite and courteous

AM: 0200 – 0800 starts

Late morning: 0900 – 1200 starts

Afternoon: 1200 – 1500 starts

PM: 1600 – 2100 starts

The rates of pay are as follows.

Day: £16

Night: £17

Sat: £19

Sun: £20

There is also the option for part time, full time and weekend work. Our client is flexible on these terms.
