As a Shunter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless movement of cargo within our operations. This is more than just a driving role – it’s a chance to become an essential part of our dynamic logistics process.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate HGV Class C+E vehicles, demonstrating exceptional shunting skills to efficiently move trailers within our facility and loading bays.

• Collaborate closely with the operations team to optimize trailer placement and facilitate smooth cargo handling.

• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle on public roads.

• Ensure the accurate and punctual movement of cargo to designated destinations, maintaining open communication with the operations team regarding progress.

• Exhibit the highest level of care in handling cargo, employing secure loading and unloading procedures.

• Provide outstanding customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor and effectively interacting with clients during shunting activities.

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class C+E driving license.

• Maximum of six points on the driving license.

• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) compliance.

• Excellent communication skills and adept problem-solving abilities.

• Prior experience in shunting or a similar driving role is advantageous.

Working hours – 07:00 – 19:00

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off 

Salary – Up to £19 per hour
