Main Purpose of Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to join our Senior Management Team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this key role will oversee all site operations within the food manufacturing side of our business, including production, engineering, and planning. The Head of Operations will work closely with Senior Managers across all departments, supporting strategic decision-making in line with our business objectives.

The successful candidate will focus on enhancing overall operational capability and performance, leading continuous improvement efforts and ensuring efficient internal development within the operations function. This role requires a commercially minded approach to managing the factory and all associated planning and production requirements.

To join us as the Head of Operations, you will have previous senior leadership experience, ideally within the FMCG sector. Experience within the food service sector and a multi-temperature operation is advantageous. You’ll be commercially astute; results driven, and detail orientated – using data to support your decision making.

Skills and Knowledge

• Leadership & Organizational Skills: Exceptional organisational and leadership abilities with a proven track record.
• Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry legal rules, guidelines, and compliance requirements within the food industry.
• CI & Lean Manufacturing: Proficiency in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Business Acumen: In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions including supply chain, finance, and customer service.
• Data Analysis: Strong working knowledge of data analysis, performance metrics, and their application to business operations.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office and various business systems.
• Retail Experience: Experience working with major retailers and food service providers.
