The Post
We are looking for a Human Resources Administrator to join our team to maintain and update employee records, as well as manage various HR processes with good administrative skills, a proactive and positive approach and a strong sense of accountability.
The HR Department is based in Cheltenham and consists of a HR Director, HR Manager, Learning and Development Manager, Recruitment Co-Ordinator, Recruitment Administrator, HR Assistant, Senior HR Administrator and HR Administrator. The HR Administrator role reports into the HR Manager.
Main Responsibilities
Under the supervision and guidance of the Senior HR Administrator, the duties will include;
- Working closely with the Senior Administrator and other members of the administrative team to ensure that all admin processes are managed efficiently & effectively
- Ensuring that records are kept in accordance with legal requirements and with regard to Data Protection legislation
- Drafting of contracts, new starter packs and variation letters
- Managing the HR Inbox and dealing with queries or forwarding where relevant
- Be the first point of contact for HR queries
- Assist with projects to improve working practices and support continuous development
- Attend meetings when required to take minutes
- Some understanding of employment law and ensuring the HR department conforms to these is key
- Forming and maintaining employee records
- Updating databases internally, such as sick and maternity leave etc
- Reviewing and renewing company policies and legal compliance
- Assisting with payroll by providing the department with relevant employee information, i.e., holiday and sick days taken
- Production of job and people descriptions plus advertisements for quality checking by the HR Manager/HR Director
- Ad hoc support to the recruitment team with administration and maintenance of statutory recruitment processes including the DBS process for staff, volunteers, casual and third-party staff
- Writing and publishing adverts for press and on-line
- Assist with and attend interviews as required
- Working closely with other members of the HR team to ensure that communication and improvements are made as identified

Terms and Conditions
- A full time or part time position will be considered for this post
- 52 weeks a year
- Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum and Bank Holidays, (3-4 days must be retained for the close down period between Christmas and New Year when the Schools close).
- Salary is up to £23,000 pro rata per annum and is dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
