HR Assistant – Immediate Start

Are you an experienced HR professional, looking for a part-time HR position within an exciting industry area?
Due to growth, a leading business in the renewable energy sector appoint a HR Coordinator, ideally with experience in a manufacturing/engineering business. There will be a strong focus on recruitment related administration as well as general HR practices. This is a very exciting opportunity to be part of a forward thinking business, that is committed to their contribution to reaching net zero.
What will you be doing?
- Work with the HR Manager to guide and advise management and employees, through all aspects of the employee life cycle, to include absence management, investigations, discipline, grievance, capability, in accordance with the consistent application of company policies and procedures, and compliance with UK employment law and best practice
- Provide information reports relating to HR, for example, absence data, staff lists, payroll costs, etc. Work on requests for information, ensuring timely and accurate responses are provided
- Establishment of the performance monitoring and review processes across the company
- Maintain and update the HR database system Staffology
- Assist with the recruitment of all new hires across the business including plant operations, engineering, finance, and support
- Assist the HR Manager to develop and introduce competency framework, skills matrix and career pathways
- Assist with the organisation of appropriate training and development programmes
- Identify training needs through analysis and keep training matrix up to date. Book in any training required. Inform manager of any training that’s required from an external training company
- Create a quarterly newsletter, detailing any events, new starters, and company updates
- To play an active role in planning, organising, and managing staff recognition and social events
The ideal applicant will have the following skills:
- Previous HR or systems experience within an engineering/manufacturing business.
- Meticulous attention to detail is paramount
- Have a keen interest in HR information systems
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
- Be a team player
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
- Be able to use own initiative for tasks
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Good skills in in Outlook, Excel & the ability to pick up systems quickly
- Good UK employment legislation knowledge
