They are a fast paced, growing company that needs to expand and increase its engineering maintenance support within the business to cover the ever growing planned and reactive maintenance regime to our production machinery, at each of our sites.
We are looking to invest in a Shift Engineer to help us facilitate the increase in machinery operating times at each site, whilst maintaining machine performance, and to be an integral part of the growing team.
Working a day / late shift rotation: 7am-3pm / 3pm – 11pm, with overtime paid at time and a half Mon-Saturday and double time Sunday.
This role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager.
The Person:
- We are looking for a candidate that can demonstrate the drive and determination to help take forward the maintenance dept with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Time served electro-mechanical maintenance engineer with great fault-finding abilities to find root causes of breakdowns quickly as well as performing crucial PPM work around the sites.
- Experience of the PVC or aluminium window industry is highly desirable, so knowledge of the following machinery manufacturers such as such as: Urban, Haffner, Emmegi, Elumatec, Stuga, Rotox and Hollinger to name a few will be advantageous.
- However, the right knowledge base, aptitude, methodology and skill level will mean, with training on the individual machinery the same skill level and experience can be attained quickly with both in-house and external contractor training.
- Any CNC machinery knowledge is transferrable.
- Trustworthy and honest need to be paramount as well as self-drive and motivation.
The Role:
- Attend to breakdowns onsite ensuring that there is always a rapid response and that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimised.
- Always endeavour to reduce downtime of site plant and machinery
- Carry out repairs to plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently, either alone and/or as part of a team.
- To carry out PPM onsite whilst always ensuring that there is a pro-active approach to planned maintenance and a high PPM output.
- Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI’s through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance.
- Deliver improvement work on machinery and site improvement work.
- Ensure Engineering time is managed effectively and that that there is low Engineering down-time; and Improve OEE.
