Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical

Full-time Permanent – Days, early finish Friday

£36,000 – 42,000 DOE

Due to expansion, a leading manufacturer are seeking a manufacturing engineer to join their team.  The successful engineer will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the assembly facility and for delivering robust process and quality improvements. The successful candidate will have experience of layout planning, Process Control Plans and standardised process documentation.

The Role:

• Planning, developing and implementing manufacturing systems and production processes
• Creating Quality plans, including processes, jigs, tools and equipment for both existing and New Product Introductions
• Verify manufacturing processes are fit for purpose and achieving quality and performance targets
• Creating, leading and facilitating cross functional Continuous Improvement activities covering Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost
• Generating and managing detailed project plans that comply with industry standards
• Training, commissioning, qualification of manufacturing processes, procedures and documentation
• Processes, work instructions, tooling & equipment that ensure consistent, good quality products can be produced in safe and effective manner and engineering

The Person:

• HNC / HND in a Manufacturing / Engineering discipline
• Strong background in manufacturing process development; ideally within a fabrication / mechanical assembly environment
• Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams to support Productivity & Quality initiatives, New Product Introductions and Engineering changes
• Understanding of Six-Sigma tools
• Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills
• Collaborative team working skills
