Permanent – Stonehouse Up to £34,000
Due to increasing demand my client is looking for Machine Setters to join a global expanding business.
The Role:
- To be responsible for the setting, checking and calibration of all gauging equipment within a cell.
- To be responsible for the start-up, re setting, running and shutdown of all machines in a cell, including fixtures, tooling (including ordering) and all work handling equipment.
- To be responsible for the training of operators within a cell and ensuring sign-off against training plans.
- To allocate daily tasks to operators within a cell to ensure output targets are achieved in line with quality and health and safety standards. Ensuring effective day-to-day communication about targets, performance against metrics and quality issues.
- To be responsible for the generation, collation, and publication of performance metric data.
- To be accountable for the quality of parts processed by ensuring that quality procedures are adhered to, and any quality problems are identified and reacted to promptly.
- To assist in the development and implementation of process improvement activities, including process control, scrap reduction and Total Quality activity.
- To be responsible for ensuring effective material flow including the receipt, handling, storage, and delivery of all materials to and from, and within a cell.
- To be responsible for ensuring first line maintenance of all plant and machinery within a cell (including coolants and filtration).
- Escalates any customer quality concern immediately upon identification, with their respective Product Line Quality team
The Person:
(Mandatory)
- Recognised L3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical qualification.
- Motivated team player, flexible attitude towards work, committed to total quality
- Experience in similar high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to stay calm in high stress situations and communicate at all levels
- Team Orientated with an excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadline when required
- The ability to prioritise and organise own workload
- To comply to Health, Safety and Environmental regulations such as PPE showing responsibility of personal safety and that of others.Treat work colleagues with respect (Equality and Diversity)
Shift Patterns:
3 shift– Morn/Afternoon/Nights rotating fortnightly – £30-32k
6 – 2, 2 – 10, 10 – 6 (Monday – Friday except night shift is Sunday to Thursday night)
4-shift – 4 weekly rota – 12H shifts £32-34k
Week 1 – Monday to Thursday 19.00 – 07.00 (48 Hour week)
Week 2 – Monday to Wednesday 07.00 – 19.00
Thursday off (48-hour break) (72 Hour week)
Friday to Sunday 19.00 – 07.00
Week 3 – Thursday to Sunday 07.00 – 19.00 (48 Hour week)
Week 4 – Week off
Weekend shifts – Days or Nights £32-34k
07.00 – 19.00 Friday to Sunday
19.00 – 07.00 Friday to Sunday
3 x 12H shifts – they top up 4-hour shift allowance to make a 40 Hour “week”
