Re Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for 2 x Procurement Assistants to join our client based in Stonehouse.
My client are a market leading manufacturer within the automotive sector, and due to a continued period of growth are looking to further expand their procurement team to assist with the acquisition and setup of indirect material within the manufacturing lines.
The role is a 6 month fixed term contract to start, and a real opportunity of further extension beyond this initial period.
With immediate starts available, ideal candidates will have experience within a similar environment and be available to work on a full time basis covering the following hours:
Monday – Thursday 08.00 – 17.00
Friday – 08.00 – 15.15
41 Hours per week basic
Payrates – £12.02 – £13.46ph (based on experience)
ROLE & CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the day to day running of all manufacturing tool stores, duties include booking in and out items from stock, managing Kan Ban and consumable tooling. Packing, dispatching and tracking items sent for repair, maintenance and general house-keeping of stores.
- Maintaining stores stock to economic levels and with good integrity in line with purchase strategy and procedures
- To actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to reduce cost. To identify slow moving and redundant stock and manage the economic disposal of tooling when replaced by new tooling at no cost to the business.
- Creation of indirect material on Electronic system (SAP – Training will be provided) and all MRP information in line with Purchasing and operations strategy.
- Supporting the buyer with potential additional business via engineering material changes obsolete stock and Asset repair opportunities.
- To identify critical spares and shortages, setting and reviewing minimum and maximum stock levels, so the need to reorder is automatically flagged as required.
- To ensure that tooling descriptions and machine identifications are completed to aid maintenance response and repair time as and when parts are required.
- Ensure that system are in place for maintenance staff to complete PPM (planned preventive maintenance and first line maintenance).
- Responsibility to ensure day to day communications is captured between manufacturing and purchasing to ensure critical spares are prorities and to reduce risk on the site on key manufacturing processes.
