Procurement Officer

A fantastic opportunity to join a leading manufacturer who have been operation for more than 130 years has become available. Based in Coleford, you will be reporting into the Head of Purchasing, Logistics & Compliance and working within a team of Senior Buyers and Trainee Buyer. Working 37 hours per week Monday – Friday this is an excellent opportunity.

Responsibilities/Duties;

• Follow the company’s standards and procedures for the review, analysis, and actioning of purchase orders for Products and Services.
• Maintain and update supplier information folders to an agreed, acceptable standard in line with BSI requirements
• Preparation and maintenance of Trackers, Dashboards and Supplier Self Reporting (SSR’s)
• Instigate and maintain supplier agreements, introduce confidentiality agreements, log order acknowledgements and action invoice queries in a timely manner.
• Analyse and negotiate proposed supplier price increases in line with agreed procedures and conduct desk-top supplier audits using standard processes and procedures.
• Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records
• Action NCRs in line with company procedure.

Candidate Attributes;

• Previous experience in a purchasing/supply chain role
• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system
• Excellent communication skills
• Microsoft Office skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiating skills
• Strong analytical skills and a strategic thinker
