£35,000 + Bonus

Due to the expansion of a global business, an exciting opportuntity for a production engineer has become available. The production engineer will be responsible for taking manufacturing processes from concept/trial to full-scale manufacture.

The role:

• Writing work instructions, quality standards and manufacturing procedures
• Specifying plant and equipment requirements for jobs
• Working to health, safety, and environmental requirements, including conducting risk assessments
• Identifying and investigating process improvement opportunities
• Providing day-to-day support to the production line processes
• Root-cause identification of faults, defects and process issues
• Propose, evaluate and implement improvement projects to provide cost savings in areas such as material, machine and manpower efficiency and “Cost of Poor Quality”
• Relationship management of plant and equipment suppliers
• Issuing relevant permits to work to subcontractors for onsite activities
• Supporting to other areas as and when required
• Working in line with requirements of quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems

The Person:

• Proven experience working within a busy production environment
• Clear communicators, particularly when writing / implementing work instructions
• Highly organised with good planning skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proven analytical skill and have a hands-on approach.
• Good IT skills
