£28,000 – £42,000 DOE

A leading national manufacturer within the automotive sector are seeking a production engineer to join their time as they go through an exciting period of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to streamline production processes within their welding/fabrication department.

The Role:

• Planning, developing and implementing manufacturing systems and processes
• Creating Quality plans, including processes, jigs, tools and equipment for both existing and New Product Introductions and analysing non-conformances
• Verify manufacturing processes are fit for purpose and achieving quality and performance targets
• Creating, leading and facilitating cross functional Continuous Improvement activities covering Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost
• Generating and managing detailed project plans that comply with industry standards
• Training, commissioning, qualification of manufacturing processes, procedures and documentation
• Processes, work instructions, tooling & equipment that ensure consistent, good quality products can be produced in safe and effective manner and engineering

The Person:

• HNC / HND in a Manufacturing / Engineering discipline
• Background in manufacturing process development; ideally within a fabrication / mechanical assembly environment
• Experience within welding/fabrication
• Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams to support Productivity & Quality initiatives, New Product Introductions and Engineering changes
• Understanding of Six-Sigma tools
• Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills
• Collaborative team working skills
