Project Support Engineer

Fulltime – £35,000 – Cheltenham – 37.5 hours weekly.

Due to expansion an exciting opportunity has become available. The project Support engineer will be responsible for providing support to the design function within the R&D team, introducing new products to market.  

The role:

• Provision of NPI CAD and documentational support
• Conduct CPI activities for existing product platforms and bespoke customer requirements
• Provision of ERP systems support on NPI and CPI creation and maintenance
• Provision of technical support to internal & external customers
• Assist on test setup and recording of performance
• Ensure all assigned relevant aspects of the Gateway Lean Innovation Process are met.
• Ensure Company Health & Safety requirements are met and good housekeeping standards are achieved in the department.
• Support in creation of Technical Product Support Information
• Respond to Technical enquiries
• Validation of design (through prototype and production product testing)
• Support successful review and implementation of VAVE activities
• Identification and promotion of best practices and methodology for departmental processes.
• To maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
• Ensure completion of all relevant compliance training and procedures. Help and assist other team members outside of individual tasks. Accountable for the health, safety and welfare of self and colleagues

The Person:

• Experience in design or manufacturing support role.
• HNC/HND qualification in design/mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 3D CAD (Solidworks – Desirable)  
• Experience of PLM system (Team Centre – Desirable)
• Experience of MRP/ERP system (Microsoft AX – Desirable)
• Competency utilising MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Hands on engineering skills and competency with power tools
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Good communicator and team player, with a calm and approachable nature. Also, the ability to prioritise workload and commit to business deadlines
