Quantity Surveyor

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry, with experience in cost estimating, cost planning, and procurement. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control for assigned projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. Based in Gloucester with national coverage, this role is working Monday – Friday 09:00am – 17:00am with a salary up to £45,000.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
• Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies
• Perform risk and value management and cost control
• Advise on procurement strategy
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
• Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
• Allocate work to subcontractors and provide advice and guidance on contractual matters
• Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
• Value completed work and arrange payments
• Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
• Understand the implications of health and safety regulations

Skills and Attributes:

• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Understanding of construction contracts and legal requirements.
