Senior Accountant £50,000-£60,000 Cheltenham

My client is currently seeking a fully qualified Senior Accountant to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team of five bookkeepers and should have a strong background in project accounting and experience using Xero software. Our client specialises in offering expert accounting solutions to the music sector, collaborating with a diverse clientele that includes festivals, promoters, touring musicians, artist management teams, booking agencies, record labels, and public relations firms.

Responsibilities

● Lead, manage and mentor a team of 5 bookkeepers.

● Oversee the end-to-end accounting processes.

● Manage and implement project-based accounting activities.

● Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

● Utilise Xero software for various accounting tasks including but not limited to,

financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

● Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.

● Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.

● Identify and recommend areas for financial and operational improvements.

● Work on corporation tax returns and end of year accounts.

Qualifications

● Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

● Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

● 2 years Practice experience.

● Strong knowledge of project accounting.

● Proven experience in managing small teams.

● Expertise in using Xero accounting software.

● Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
