Software Engineer (ASP.Net/MVC)

Overview

Develop software solutions that are standards driven, fit for purpose and extendable. There is a growing emphasis on ASP.Net and MVC framework development. 

Job Description

Working on a wide range of projects, from existing system feature upgrades to completely new system creation and 3^rd party integrations.

Our software engineer should be able to:

• Liaise with users to obtain and clarify requirements.
• Understand uncommented code.
• Work to our coding standards and conventions.
• Create a solution from a specification.
• Unit test own code.
• Code review other SE’s code.
• Provide application support and fix bugs when necessary.
• Liaise with testers to set up system/integration testing.
• Guide users on how to perform UAT.

We pride ourselves on using the right tech and tools to do the job and are continually improving both, as a team, we are always open to new ideas and methodologies.

WFH: During probation will be in office most of time. After probation then WFH can be more frequent. However, it will depend on the work in progress. Also, daily hours are flexible: 6 to 2, 7 to 3 etc to miss the rush hour. As long as 37.5 hours done a week then actual start and end time is flexible.

Person Specification

Able to work effectively in a team (8 members).

Able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.

Working knowledge of C# and other .NET languages

Working knowledge of database functionality and programming

Good understanding of OOP and basic principles of programming and SOLID

Experience of working with APIs, either integrating with or creating

Good time management skills with the ability to keep to project timelines

Good problem-solving skills with the ability to ‘think outside the box’ and put forward innovative solutions

Beneficial to have experience in the following:

• MSSQL Server
• ASP.NET MVC
• ASP.NET Web API 2
• Azure Devops
• Git
