Software QA Lead/Lead Tester (Hybrid)

This is a key role requiring an individual:

Purpose of the role:
To provide technical QA management within the Software Development Team. Ensure the Quality, Robustness, Performance and User Experience of web-based software with low defects and to agreed timescales. Continuously adapt and improve the Quality Assurance process/techniques. Implement and maintain an Automated Testing framework. Ensure quick and effective User Acceptance Testing.

CTO.

Relationships:
Staff/contractors in software development, programming, professional services, consulting, system installation, training, support, Directors, supplier contacts, customers.

Key duties:
Staff Management
1. Provide day to day management of staff within the Software QA team.
Software verification: Under the direction and support of (a) Chief Technology Officer you will:
2. Follow software development processes to meet best practice and business needs,
3. Line Management of QA Engineers within the Development Team
4. Prepare detailed test specifications based on user-stories and requirements, to ensure the logical completeness of software
5. Write detailed bug reports and feedback to Developers to help the identification and repair of software issues
6. Ensure software is presentable, user friendly and functional against agreed business requirements,
7. Perform both black-box and white-box testing, to ensure quality for both end-user experience and low-level robustness.
8. Implement an Automated Testing Process, using industry leading practices. Ensure testing can be fast, accurate and repeatable
9. Write and maintain Automated Testing Scripts
10. Work with the CTO on high-level Development Life Cycle improvements, regularly adapting and improving where required. 11. Support CloudTamers’ colleagues who are migrating data between software system,
12. Support professional service and implementation teams with installations and configuration.
The above are the main responsibilities of the role; it is likely that other work will be required in supporting the organisation’s activities and that the role will develop over time to suit the changing needs of the business. A flexible approach by the role holder to developing and contributing to the growth of the business will be a prime requirement for success in this role.

Experience
(Essential)
• 2 years’ experience in software testing/quality assurance
• Competence with IT to use the essentials of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, e-mail, web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge, Brave, Safari). Training will be given in use of in-house systems

• Great eye for detail

• Ability to identify bottlenecks/inefficiencies and streamline these areas

• Excellence in communicating in the English language both orally and in writing
• At least 2 years’ experience operating in a business environment
• Sufficient experience of working in a team environment including at least some with line management responsibilities
• Customer care skills, patience and efficiency in dealing with business contacts, customers and colleagues, by telephone and in person, in a warm and friendly manner, particularly with international contacts whose first language may not be English.

(Beneficial but not essential)
• NetSuite experience at any level (preferably a developer, tester, quality assurance/support engineer or Professional Services based)
• Experience of software programming, database use, data processing, an understanding of database architecture and use of website update tools
• Experience using NetSuite environment and use of SuiteScript, preferably 2.0/2.1
• Experience using NetSuite SuiteBundler
• Experience using NetSuite SuiteCloud Development Framework (often referred to as SDF)

• Experience using JavaScript ES6

• Experience using GIT/SVN Version control

• Experience with the VBA programming language

• Experience using UML Use-Case
• Experience working in an agile and fast-paced environment
• Achieved a recognised RQF level 3 or equivalent customer care competency qualification
• A full UK driving licence.

Practical arrangements and benefits
• Location of Work: Head office (Cheltenham GL51) on Mondays and Thursdays and the rest of the week from home. Visits to Client sites in the UK and sometimes overseas may very occasionally be required when travelling expenses will be paid.
• Expenses will be refunded in accordance with Expenses Policy (this does not cover expenses travelling from home to office)
• Holidays: 31 days including English public holidays, rising by one additional day each year in year three and in subsequent years of continuous employment up to a maximum of 36 days including public holidays
• Sick Pay: During first six months (induction period): SSP. Post six months: up to one week’s full pay and one week’s half pay in any calendar year
• Pension: automatically enrolls eligible employees who are UK residents into a pension scheme approved by The Pensions Regulator as required by law
• Personal Health insurance: for employees who are UK residents: a contribution post induction
• A subsidised on-site canteen and restaurant at head office (subject to availability)
• Free on-site parking at head office worth £750 per year (subject to availability)
• Notice of termination: during first six months: one week from either side, post six months: one month from either side rising to 5 weeks on the anniversary of the first start date, 6 weeks on the second, 7 weeks on the third and 8 weeks on the fourth.

Hours Per Week: Full time 37.5 hrs per week normally Monday to Friday. Part time considered
Salary: £27k – £37k depending on experience
