TRACTOR DRIVER WITH PA1 AND PA2 QUALIFICATIONS

Main Purpose of the Job

As a skilled tractor driver, your responsibilities will include, completing maintenance duties, and all general farm task. You will be expected to be able to carry out tasks using farm implements e.g. Spraying, fertiliser, drilling, cultivations, and irrigation, etc.

Main Responsibilities

Driving and carrying out regular maintenance on tractors and other agricultural equipment

Operate Tractors and machinery safely and efficiently

3

Carry out daily routine checks on vehicles to ensure they are safe to operate, and any faults are reported to the growing manager

To ensure that health & safety is always adhered to and that all incidents and accidents are reported to the management team

The spraying and fertiliser application on indoor and outdoor crops

To assist with the drilling of baby leaf crops both indoor and outdoor

7 

To assist with cultivations where required across the farm

The setting up and movement of irrigation equipment

9 

The movement of agricultural equipment, produce or other items with a tractor or trailer

Other general farm tasks as and where required to include tasks like, green burning, hoeing, crop cover, sanding, site maintenance.

Must be hard working and physically fit

Must have the ability to carry out duties unsupervised, in all weather conditions, and irregular hours as and when required

Must demonstrate a good understanding of Health and Safety

Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Skills and Experience

1 

Previous experience driving modern agricultural equipment

2 

A good level of spoken English is desirable but not essential

3 

A Full Clean Driving Licence

4 

PA1 and PA2 required

5 

Forklift/Teleporter certificates not essential

Special Tasks

Other ad hoc duties as needed by the farm. Training will be provided where required to carry out unfamiliar tasks and or where specific certificates are required. There will be the scope for operators to learn new skills and tasks if they can demonstrate the appropriate skill level.
