Trainee Machine Operator
Re Recruitment are looking for trainee pre-stretch machine operator to work our prestigious client who is UK leading company in pallet warping and shrink-wrapping products.
Your Job Purpose
- To work as a key member of the pre-stretch team ensuring that the pre-stretch machines are run in line with company manufacturing, quality and safety procedures at all times.
- To ensure that the pre-stretch machines are accurately monitored in line with laid down procedures to ensure that the Hand rolls are produced to the highest quality standards.
- To work with all members of your team to endeavour to meet the needs of the customer in line with business aims and objectives.
- To take responsibility and record all the correct information on the Works order and any other paperwork in the pre-stretch area in line with the procedures and requirements of the quality control system. Actively work to improving quality and continuously improve the efficient running of the pre-stretch section.
- To be proactive in the development of new processes and procedures in order to increase efficiency within the pre-stretch section.
- To support the embedding of continuous improvement within the pre-stretch section.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Operational responsibilities
- To set and operate any and all pre-stretch and ancillary equipment in accordance with company procedure.
- To accurately monitor the performance of machines in line with company procedures and instruction form your manager.
- To continuously monitor the quality of material produced and report any problems to your manager To accurately record your production and scrap on your paperwork at the end of your shift.
- Ensure that an effective changeover takes place with all the correct information is passed on.
- Ensure that material is handle correctly, stored correctly and supplied to customers to the quality standards required.
- Ensure that hand rolls are processed in line with customer order requirements as detailed on works orders.
- Ensure that machines are cleaned and maintained and that section is cleaned, tidied and organised.
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are adhered to in line with legal requirements and company policy at all times.
Internal responsibilities
- Effectively handle all aspects of your job role in conjunction with the internal systems as laid down in the ISO, BRC, IOP and Hygiene processes and procedures.
- Take personal responsibility for the Health & Safety of yourself and your work colleagues in accordance with company Health & Safety policy.
- Communicate with the team within the Conversion area in line with your line manager’s instructions.
- Ensure that all information on works orders is sufficient to allow production in meeting the customer’s expectation.
- Notify your shift manager and team promptly of any machine and maintenance issues or breakdowns.
- Ensure the old film stock is used first using the FIFO procedure
- Reduce scrap and rejects where possible and support continuous improvement.
- Undertake any ad hoc projects as and when required by management. Undertake any training required as part of your continued development
- Actively support other members of your team
Shifts:
- 4 on 4 off 2 days and
- 12 nights
- 12 hours shifts
Pay
- £9.77 per hour
- Overtime x 1.5
- Potential to earn up to 36k a year after taken on permanent contact after 12 weeks
