Credit Control Manager

Job Summary

To maintain an effective and professional credit control system for the company. Minimising risk to the business and ensuring client relations are preserved. To provide an efficient, customer-focused and responsive quality credit control service in line with best practice benchmarks.


Principle Accountabilities

· Provide day to day management of all dispute-related activity on behalf of the credit department, improving turnaround times and reducing the value of disputed debt

· Engage with the Sales and Customer Service teams, plus business partners and clients to resolve disputes

· Achieve excellent customer service through consistent delivery of standard operating processes, striving to be best in class, adding value through continuous improvement, ensuring resolution of escalated issues

· Deliver accurate and timely financial and management reporting

· Ensure all actions relating to credit control; calls/payment promises/disputes are recorded on our CRM

· Ensure that the credit department’s standard operation processes are fully documented and maintained

· Post and allocate bank/cheque and credit card payments.

· Reconciliation of bank accounts.

· Results driven to reduce debtor days


Knowledge & Experience

· Previous experience in Credit Control/Full Sales Ledger

· Experience and use of Sage 50 accounts preferred but not essential



ICM and AAT student preferred

· Well organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet challenging targets and tight deadlines

· Strong client focus and seeks to understand the commercial relationships

· Good influencing skills particularly on the telephone

· Good attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team

· Respect for confidentiality

· Excellent negotiating skills

· Able to use own initiative when making decisions.

The hours of work are from 8:00 to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Holiday is 24 days (plus 8 days bank holiday) increasing to with 25 days after one year. Five days of the holiday allowance is to be taken over our Christmas shut down.
