The role in short
Overseeing the Supply Chain function of the Commercial department. Responsible for managing the import, domestic stock and direct ship purchase order process and fulfilment cycle, including freight forwarder contract negotiation and management. Charged with driving a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation, with an emphasis on embracing technology to maximise efficiency.

Onto the nitty gritty!
Management responsibilities:

  • Responsible for direct reports in the Supply Chain function of the Commercial department
  • Providing motivation, training, coaching and support to fully develop a growing team
  • Building open and trusting communications with the team, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Strong performance in onboarding, performance management, absence management, induction, and probations
  • Decision making in areas of recruitment and resource management.

Task Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating and overseeing import relationships and contracts, predominantly global sea-freight and the management of freight forwarders
  • Overseeing stock order approval, administration and fulfilment, both domestic and import, as well as the fulfilment of direct ship orders
  • Managing all Supply Chain administration and supporting processes, including maintenance of key stock file data and the undertaking of critical path analysis
  • Compiling and updating vendor manuals and ensuring suppliers are continually managed against them
  • Driving continuous improvement in the supply chain to enhance the customer experience
  • Understanding the capabilities of current and future technology, highlighting where this could advance the supply chain and its processes.
  • Accountable for the end-to-end (vendor to distribution centre) logistics and supply chain process.
