Healthcare Assistant PG (Nights)
I am currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading care services, My Client provides care and support for adults with an acquired brain injury resulting from accident or disease. They also provide support for neurodisability conditions such as Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia. They offer care and support for people who have experienced an infection, bleed or clot in the brain, which has resulted in a stroke.
Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
Role of a Support Worker:
• Support the people who use their service in achieving their outcomes in ways that they choose
• Support the people who use their service in daily activities within or outside the service (dependent on their individual needs)
• Support the people who use their service by implementing any actions as specified in their person centred care plans
• Give emotional support to the people who use their service and help them to build resilience for activities within or outside the service in the community
• Where appropriate, support the people who use their service at meal times enabling them to eat their food with dignity
• Attend to personal care of the people who use their service as required, Washing, Dressing, Toileting… ect
• Complete daily administration including updating charts, writing reports
• Respond to or refer to management any questions or concerns expressed by anyone using the service
• Adhere with all policies and procedures, including compliance with Health and Safety, Security regulations
• To maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act
• Take responsibility for personal development and attendance at training both mandatory and service-specific
• Report any incidents of abuse, mistreatment or non-compliance within the service to the Service Manager or next available management level
• Fulfil any duties requested by the management of the service
• Take responsibility for the safe working environment for self, colleagues and the people who use our service
Requirements:
• Basic numeracy and literacy
• Willingness to work towards an NVQ2 in Health and Social Care
• Understanding the needs of people within the specific speciality of the service
• Experience of providing practical and/or emotional support to adults. (Preferred)
• Willingness to complete personal Care, Washing, dressing and toileting
• Full UK drivers’ license (Preferred) due to location
