IT Support Technician – Gloucester – £20,000-£27,000

 

 

Market-leading organisation in the South-West employing 500 people across the company. This role will be based at our Head Office in Gloucester

Currently looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Technician who is looking to join a forward thinking organisation, where you can build on your existing skills. Ideally the successful candidate will have previous IT experience especially with tablets, mobiles and laptops. Full training will be provided for the role but an interest in all aspects of IT is essential.

 

Job Purpose:

To assist the IT Manager with the implementation of technology across our headquarters and depots and direct the work of systems and business analysts, developers, support specialists and other computer-related workers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To assist the IT Manager to evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs
  • To assist the IT Manager to plan, develop and implement the ICT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness
  • To assist the IT Manager with scheduling upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems;
  • To assist the IT Manager to research and install new systems
  • To assist the IT Manager to guarantee the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision
  • To assist the IT Manager to ensure that software licensing laws are adhered to
  • To assist the IT Manager to provide secure access to the network for remote users
  • To assist the IT Manager to secure data from internal and external attack
  • To assist the IT Manager to offer users appropriate support and advice
  • To assist the IT Manager to manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems
  • To keep up to date with the latest technologies
  • To assist the IT Manager to plan, develop and implement the ICT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness
