Payroll Administrator (F/T OR P/T)

Location: Cheltenham

Salary: £22k - 25k per year

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with:

  • The processing of monthly payrolls on the Iris Cascade HR & Payroll system
  • Reconciliation of specific payroll accounts and certain 3rd party payments
  • Handle and respond to internal and external Payroll queries.
  • Tax Year End (P60’s/P11d’s)
  • Pension arrangements including auto-enrolment and TUPE Pension schemes
  • Liaise with the HR & Finance departments where appropriate


  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Minimum of 3 years proven payroll experience
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Good timekeeping and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Organised, logical approach with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • Experience of using a computerised payroll software,
  • Discretion due to the nature of the job handling confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Intermediate Excel skills


  • CIPP payroll qualified or working towards
  • Experience of using the Iris Cascade HR & Payroll system
  • TUPE experience
  • Experience of Local Government Pension schemes
  • Understanding of on-going legislative changes which affect payroll.
