Production Planner

 

My client, a leading global business in their field, based in the Forest of Dean are seeking an experienced Production Planner to effectively organise and plan production orders to meet customer delivery requirements and provide support to the applicable operational department to ensure cost effective planning processes and practices as well as expediting production when necessary. The role will see the opportunity for you to develop your skill set, gain new knowledge, receive professional training and potentially realise career ambitions in Supply Chain or Production.

 

Production Planner Role

· Work within the departmental policies and procedures.

· Actively support the Strategic Plan and provide timely and accurate planning.

· Attend production meetings and liaise closely with the contracts team

· Interaction with internal departments and sub-contractors to expedite availability of parts required for production orders

· Interaction with SAP system to define production routes

· Provide technical support and assistance to operatives including drawings, contract order forms and job tickets

· Works with the Production Manager to coordinate production scheduling and recommendations for staffing needs to ensure customer delivery schedules are met.

· Reconcile Orders placed against orders completed

· Processing of Engineering Change Notes and analysing effect on schedules

· Monitoring of the status of Work in Progress (WIP) on the shop floor.

· Raising production plans in line with customer required dates.

· The provision of the Shopfloor documents for each contract/batch.

· Processing of NCRs to cover any relevant internal or external rework.

· Final management of production sales orders to allow shipment and booking of man hour cost to jobs

 

Production Planner Essential Qualifications and experience

GCSE/A level standard and relevant engineering work-based experience

Highly numerate with competent IT skills

SAP or other MRP/ERP planning background

 

37 hours per week, please note this role is 100% site based due to the need to be in regular contact with multiple parts of the business..
