Systems Engineer required for exciting opportunity with my client, a global business who design and manufacture cutting edge technology products for the consumer goods market and entertainment industry.

Due to strong growth and a number of exciting new projects, my client are looking for a Systems Engineer to join their team initially on a contract basis.

Working in the Gloucestershire team, this is a great opportunity for a Systems Engineer who enjoys working on the full project life cycle as you will be creating next generation handheld input devices.


Systems Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Resolve electro-mechanical system requirements for multiple product variants, delivering technical solutions from concept through to detailed implementation requirements.
  • Deliver key system engineering deliverables including failure and robustness analysis, system analysis and specification documentation working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Develop system models that support a continuous testing methodology.
  • Ensure a structured process is maintained across the team.
  • Writing requirements.
  • Writing verification, validation and test plans for R&D test procedures.
  • Responsible for leading or supporting project teams focused on business improvement initiatives, leading structured problem-solving sessions to identify root causes, implementing robust solutions including the coordination of any V&V activities required to implement.

Systems Engineer Experience and Skills:

  • Expert in requirement and test specification.
  • Some experience with model-based systems engineering methods.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Development electro-mechanical devices including process and design FMEA, design for manufacture, design for test, design for procurement.
  • Experience of working closely with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to draft specifications which specify practical and achievable tolerances.
  • Experience of managing mechanical, electrical and electronic component, sub assembly and complete build finished.
  • Excellent engineering and root cause analysis problems solving skills (demonstrable use of the full range of problem-solving tools) with an ability to trouble shoot mechanical, electrical and electronics designs, carry out failure mode analysis and support mechanical design changes.
  • Product and process Validation and Verification knowledge.
  • An ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
