Technical Sales Engineer – Gloucester

My client is looking for an enthusiastic Technical Sales Engineer for their Gloucester facility, looking to join a specialist company working with blue chip companies. This role is hybrid and would involve travel.

Responsibilities:

• Technical and commercial evaluation of sales enquiries.
• Advising the customer on available solutions, initial concepts and any information required
• Generate proposal drawings, tender documents, and estimation cost sheets in accordance with customer requirements and the appropriate standards alongside the proposals engineering team
• key contributing member of the proposals and engineering teams.
• Lead, contribute to and / or convene technical review meetings to assess proposals when required.
• Maintain accurate records of all tenders submitted, including associated documentation.
• Support weekly sales meetings and prepare weekly status reports of proposal activity where required.
• Liaise closely with the senior management team and provide support to other areas of the business i.e. design, projects, manufacturing, controls and the installation / commissioning teams
• Site visits to accurately and reliably gather all relevant information to allow the development of a solution i.e. site dimensions, interface requirements (mechanical and electrical), routings, obstructions and site specific specifications

Person:

• An automation engineer, qualified to at least HNC level with automation, robotics (not essential) and conveying experience.
• An engineer experienced in similar systems integration or automation environment.
• Excellent IT and communication skills.
• Capable of dealing with global blue-chip companies and SMEs alike, across different sectors, maintaining relationships and company reputation
• A person experienced in solution-based selling with a passion for developing the solution from concept to sale.
• Food, Pharmaceutical or Automotive industry experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of 2D drawing packages such as AutoCAD is essential for this role.
• Ability to develop and create conceptual designs from their own knowledge and skills, allowing them to have in depth engineering discussions with the customer in real time.
