Temporary to Permanent - 12-week pathway
Our client, a well-established poultry production business within the food manufacturing and agricultural sector, based in Shropham, Norfolk, has an opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Production Supervisor with previous experience within poultry processing, food production or manufacturing to take responsibility for a busy production team, ensuring that safety, quality, animal welfare and production standards are maintained throughout the shift.
The successful Production Supervisor should have:
·Previous supervisory or people management experience within food production, manufacturing or a similar fast-paced environment
·A strong understanding of poultry processing, ideally with experience of Evisceration (EV), Lairage or Truss
·Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and quality standards, ideally including BRCGS and Red Tractor
·Strong leadership and communication skills with the confidence to manage large, diverse teams
·A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
·A full driving licence and your own transport, which is essential due to the location
In this role, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for:
·Leading and coordinating production teams across Evisceration, Lairage and Truss to achieve daily production targets
·Managing approximately 35 team members during normal production, increasing to between 50 and 100 employees during the busy Turkey campaign
·Monitoring throughput, yield, labour efficiency, downtime and waste, taking action to improve performance where required
·Ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene, traceability, health & safety and animal welfare are consistently maintained
·Managing staffing levels, attendance, performance, training and the effective deployment of employees across the shift
·Working closely with Engineering, Quality and Planning teams to resolve issues and maintain an efficient production flow
·Leading by example and developing a positive, respectful and high-performing team culture
Hours & Turkey Campaign
The role is usually Monday to Friday, with working hours and start times dependent on production requirements.
During the busy Turkey campaign, from 8 November to 21 December, you will be required to work 10-hour days, six days out of seven, with starts typically from around 5:30am.
Outside the Turkey campaign, the site returns to chicken production and working patterns and start times may change accordingly.
Pay & Opportunity
The successful Production Supervisor will receive:
·£14.66 - £16.11 per hour, depending on experience
·£0.50 per hour attendance bonus, available from day one and paid every two weeks, subject to meeting the attendance and punctuality criteria
·12-week temporary-to-permanent opportunity
·Ongoing leadership and compliance training
·Development opportunities within production
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, resilient and hands-on Production Supervisor who can lead from the front, remain calm under pressure and motivate a busy production team to deliver results.
If you have the right supervisory background and are looking for a role offering the opportunity to secure a permanent position after the initial 12-week period, apply now to be considered.
Don't delay. With the busy Turkey campaign approaching and a 5:30am start required during this period, we are keen to speak with suitable Production Supervisors who have their own transport and can commit to the required working pattern.
