About Seasonal Poultry Worker Recruitment

Providing Skilled Poultry Labour When It’s Needed Most

Following a competitive tender process, RE Recruitment was selected as one of only two official suppliers for the UK’s Seasonal Worker Visa Scheme in the poultry sector. This means RE Recruitment is authorised to sponsor workers so they can apply for a seasonal visa under this government-approved programme.

The scheme was first confirmed by the UK Government in its Food Strategy (June 2022) and continues to play a vital role in ensuring that poultry businesses have the workforce they need during the peak pre-Christmas season.

How The Seasonal Visa Works

The poultry visa route operates on a rolling basis and currently allows up to 1,900 visas for temporary migrant workers in the UK poultry sector each year. The quota is set annually by the Government and may vary depending on policy.

For 2026, 1,900 visas have been confirmed, with RE Recruitment receiving half of the allocated Certificates of Sponsorship. The visa covers specific roles in the poultry sector where significant seasonal labour shortages are identified.

Certificates of Sponsorship and subsequent visas are issued from early October. Workers will be placed throughout October, November, and December. As part of the scheme, all workers must leave the UK by 31 December 2026.
