To work with new model and production support teams, providing Quality support to production activities and the projects from PPAP to SPC Analysis, FMEA, Repeatability and accuracy studies, budget control, co-ordination of master samples.
To work with production support teams as a contact dealing with day to day concerns from the customer, provide customer with data regarding component measurements, etc.
Liaising directly with customers (Globally), preparing and delivering reports.
To make instant decisions with regards to containment of stock in plant or at customer.
To put together action plans with other members of team to tackle quality concerns and communicate this to customers.
To act as advisor to production teams with regards to internal quality and actively seek continuous improvement.
To investigate the root cause of customer concerns internally and where possible put in countermeasures which will prevent re-occurrence (e.g. some production engineering type activities.
Participate in the control and maintenance of the quality system, procedure writing and control, document control.
Collaborate with design teams to engineer out areas of concern and participate fully with NPI from an internal and external facing perspective.
Coordinate CI projects, cost downs, Kaizen activities.
Experience with dealing with internal and external customers.
Basic numerical skills.
Excellent English language and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to work on own initiative and to achieve tight deadlines.
Reliable and keen to develop new skills – committed to progress within the organisation in the future.
Competent use of machine shop equipment (apprenticeship skills).
Good MS Word/Excel skills.
Hands on practical engineering skills.
Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Aptitude for problem solving and accuracy.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Flexible approach to working patterns and overtime.
Minimum HNC in engineering related discipline.
Knowledge and experience of working to ISO9001/2, TS16949.
Understanding/experience of SPC and process capability studies.
Experience of customer contact.
Automotive experience an advantage.
25 days holiday (mostly fixed with plant shut downs) + 8 Bank holidays
37.5 hour week working Monday to Friday.
20% shift allowance on PM shift
Potential for advancement in Company.
Overtime (up to 1.5 hours compulsory overtime per day depending on business need)
Working a 2- shift pattern rota.
AM – 06:00am – 14:10pm – Monday to Friday
PM – 15:20pm – 23.30pm – Monday to Thursday
14.20pm – 22.30pm – Friday
