Summary
- To assist the head chef in the maintenance of the highest standards of food preparation and presentation
- To develop own skills as a chef under tutelage of Head Chef To maintain highest standards of cleanliness and compliance with H&S regulations
- To assist with other duties as required
Responsibilities of the role:
- Prepare dishes to the highest standards of quality, safety and consistency
- Ensure recipes are followed to ensure risk of cross contamination are kept to a minimum
- Ensure standards are followed to ensure consistency of quality
- Work as part of a team in preparation, cooking, garnishing, or presentation of food.
- Work with Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop skills
- Take part in training as required
- Follow standards and regulations relating with cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
- Ensure chef is inform where food or other supplies need to be ordered.
- Check the quantity and quality of received products.
- Work with head chef to ensure departmental compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g. COSHH, HAACP, Fire & Food Hygiene)
- Ensure head chef is notified of equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
- Ensure breakfast is presented and served to hotel standards
- Assist KP section where required
General
- To follow Hotels procedures should staff require to exit the building for any reason.
- To ensure staff do not enter any unauthorised areas.
- To feed back any matters of concern as soon as possible to the Hotel Manager
