Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to drive and execute all activities required to achieve the Material Planning teams’ targeted KPIs, assist in managing initiatives to enhance the business and supporting the Materials Planning and assembly team with an advanced knowledge of the wider business.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain reliable cost competitive sources of supply, in conjunction with Strategic Procurement, and be able to manage a team including Buyers, material planning, goods inwards, warehousing, assembly, and dispatch.
- Support Manufacturing Operations by developing strategic level load plans by analysing demand signals and understanding the product portfolio.
- Ensure the supply chain is proficient in providing continuity of supply on all materials required, to support manufacturing whilst consistently achieving both department and Company objectives.
- Responsibility and ownership for Inventory (current value of £3m)
- Management of production shortages and associated communication with the planning team
- Ensure accuracy of SAP Master Data to facilitate Planning activities managing regular data updates and cleansing.
- Ensure best practice SAP planning processes are followed to achieve the optimum utilization of SAP.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in a procurement role within an engineering company. Using ERP systems within a medium volume manufacturing environment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (typically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).
- Proven commercial and negotiating skills.
- Strong planning skills (SAP experience preferred)
- Experience of working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
