My client, a specialist in systems integration, is in search of a Design Engineer to join their established, experienced, and growing team.

This is a key role within the business, from drafting up machine concepts for sales through to fully designing and detailing the finished machine of which. No two machines that they make are the same.

• Previous machine building design
• The ability to accept constructive criticism of the design

• Wide knowledge of different engineering materials
• Excellent communication skills

• The ability to overcome setbacks
• Inventor 

The Responsibilities:

• Support the whole company from Sales through to the Shopfloor on the mechanical design of our turnkey automated solution machines.
• Ensuring that the build is going to plan and that any adjustments that are made on the shopfloor are updated in the final drawings, to ensure all changes are captured and documented.
• To take responsibility and ownership of all successful orders, to move the design concept from the paper and to turn this into a fully developed and working machine.  
• Responsible for all mechanical design work whilst overseeing the electrical design work.
• Responsible also if we need to sub-contractor out any design to ensure they follow our procedures and give guidance and feedback to any 3^rd party machinists that we use.
• Ensure all designs are documented correctly and updated revisions are maintained.
• Providing support with purchasing to ensure parts availability.
• Help and mentor and develop the skills of our junior designer.
